Finnlines has released the following statement; 

The investments in safe and reliable services focusing on cargo operations and handling continues. To make stevedoring safer and easier, and to make the securing of trailer cargo as reliable as possible, an automatic trailer trestle system was developed and patented by Finnlines in the early 2000's. 

The system was first adopted in the Helsinki-Travemünde traffic, and was then established on route between Uusikaupunki and Travemünde. As a continuation for a succesful procurement and implementation, a total of 600 new trestles have been ordered and automatic trestle system will now be expanded to Hanko-Rostock traffic. 

The trestles will be taken into use during week 42 (Monday, 14 – Sunday, 20 October 2019)

To ensure smooth operations, the drivers should park the trailers in the harbour with the front end as high as possible so the trestle can be easily inserted in its place. Please leave the legs wound down to their full length.
